The largest tick ever recorded weighed almost three pounds. It was embedded in the back of a morbidly obese person. The person was not even aware of it. It was estimated that the tick had consumed at least two gallons of blood during its lifespan.

The old college fad of swallowing live goldfish began in 1918 when it was rumored to help stave off the deadly effects of the Spanish Flu.
