In addition to this unusual height advantage, every baby born in Vatican City is personally blessed by the Pope. No one is sure what is the cause of the height gain, but some researchers suggest that religious ecstasy may trigger horomonal changes in the mother's bloodstream that increase the babies' growth rate. This is all extremely speculative, because no Vatican mother has every allowed themselves or their child to be examined by scientists.
